Who can get temporary cover with CoverME?

CoverME temporary insurance is available to any driver aged between 17 and 70 who holds a valid full UK driving licence issued by the DVLA. The vehicle must be registered and kept in the United Kingdom. Provisional licences and international licences are not accepted.

How long can I be covered for?

You can be covered from as little as 1 hour right up to 28 consecutive days on a single policy. You set the exact start and end date and time, so you only pay for the cover you actually need.

Does a CoverME policy affect my no-claims bonus?

No. A CoverME policy is a completely separate, standalone insurance contract. If you make a claim, it will not affect the vehicle owner's no-claims discount or annual premium.

Can I insure a vehicle I do not own?

Yes. You can insure yourself as the named driver on virtually any UK-registered private vehicle, regardless of who the registered keeper or legal owner is. You just need the vehicle's registration number and the owner's permission.

Will my policy appear on the Motor Insurance Database (MID)?

Yes. Every CoverME policy is automatically registered on the Motor Insurance Database (MID). It can take 24 hours to 5 working days to appear, but your Certificate of Motor Insurance is valid proof of cover immediately.

Can I get cover if I have penalty points?

Yes, in most cases. CoverME accepts drivers with up to 11 active penalty points. However, IN10, DR10, and dangerous driving convictions are not accepted.

How do I pay for my policy?
